Jacques Henry, MSW

Jacques (zhah-k) is a dedicated mental health professional with expertise in trauma recovery, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. As a Therapist, Social Worker, and Group Facilitator, he serves diverse populations, including children and teens, men, women, couples, and families. Jacques is deeply committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered as they navigate their healing journey.

Jacques holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and has been working in the mental health field since 2014. His career began in Atlanta, GA, where he received specialized training and worked closely with homeless individuals navigating mental health challenges and addiction. In this role, he was responsible for allocating resources for those without income, working with clients to secure permanent housing, and helping them rebuild their lives.
In 2018, Jacques returned to Trinidad, where he served as a Social Work Specialist, supporting individuals and families through challenging life circumstances. He also developed a unique framework for helping people co-parent more effectively. His dedication to fostering resilience and growth also extends to his current work with teens and young adults at a local college, where he helps students navigate pivotal stages of development and thrive both academically and personally.
Deeply passionate about both individual and group therapy, Jacques believes therapy is a transformative tool for anyone, offering benefits even to those not in crisis. His holistic, compassionate approach is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and reach their full potential. He is currently advancing his skills through advanced certification in Somatic Experiencing, enabling him to incorporate body-based approaches into his practice and offer more effective care for clients recovering from trauma.
Jacques recently joined the Espoir Trauma Clinic team, where he offers Somatic Psychotherapy and works extensively with neurodivergent clients, particularly children and teens. In addition to his individual therapy work, he will also be leading the clinic's Men's Support Group, fostering a space for connection, growth, and empowerment for Caribbean men.
Jacques’ approach to therapy is rooted in fostering trust, safety, and collaboration. He uses a combination of evidence-based and alternative methods to create a holistic and personalized experience for each client. By honoring the mind-body connection, he ensures that healing is deeply anchored in the body, supporting clients’ overall empowerment and well-being.
Jacques is skilled in individual therapy, couples therapy, and group facilitation, including leading the clinic's Men's Support Group and Therapy Skills Group. His integrative practice incorporates modalities such as:

When he’s not at work, Jacques spends his time farming, landscaping, and volunteering in his community. He is also a proud pawrent to 10 dogs and enjoys surrounding himself with plants. His deep connection to nature mirrors his grounding and nurturing approach to both life and therapy.
